Alessia Xoccato walk the catwalk with her collection during Next Generation inside the Fashion Week.

On Wednesday, February 25th, opening day of the Fashion Week, the four emerging design winners of “Next Generation” contest presented their collections. Next Generation is a project dedicated to designers under 30 with the aim of finding a new generation of designers who develop and re-design the future of the Made in Italy.

Alessia Xoccato, 26 years old, from Vicenza, graduated in 2007 at Domus Academy in Fashion Design, is one of the four young talents who made their début on the catwalks of Milan Moda Donna with the support of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and the Camera di Commercio di Milano. Selected among 120 candidates, Alessia presented a collection inspired to the artist Umberto Boccioni and the architect Frank Gehry, which combines light fabric, solid shapes and transparencies.
The wind was the inspiration element of the collection "Suspended" presented in September 2008 for the first edition of Container within MilanoVendeModa event.

Alessia began to develop her collection project from her Master's Thesis with the support of Manuela Gherardi, stylist and owner of Ter Et Bantine. The collection was presented last spring at Oréal Fashion Week in Toronto as part of an initiative coming from the Milan town council which gathered the main schools of the Fashion field inviting them to bring excellence among their students to the event, offering an important opportunity for visibility. At the same time Alessia continued her work as a consultant for several firms of the field, activity she’s still carrying on.

The path of Alessia will continue with the development of a collection in line with the new market demands, searching for a more conscious and fresh identity.
